Team Believe!

This is an informational Blog to keep you updated about Lyris’ progress while we go through this cancer battle.  Our goal is to update you weekly.  It’s really a challenge to answer all the telephone calls, e-mails and text messages we are receiving.  Please feel free to browse around the site.  Read the “Recent Posts and Archives.” The beginning of Lyris’ story begins in the month of April. Feel free to share with all of your friends and leave a message.  Lyris does read them or ask us to read them to her.  She is very involved with this site and tells us what to write.  We hope you find this blog interesting, funny and motivational as well!

Most people are familiar with PINK for Breast Cancer and we want you to become familiar with GOLD for Childhood Cancer as well.  Every cancer has a color.  We don’t know where this journey will lead, but we are very optimistic.  We know there will be challenges along the way, but as long as you continue to pray for our family, we will be alright!

We LOVE YOU and THANK YOU for everything!  Side note: Lyris Amil Thomas, just in case you didn’t know. πŸ™‚

  • Lorinda, please know that your Kidd cousins are praying for you and the family. Feel better Lyris!!
    Sending hugs your way.

  • Dear Lyris, I am Sgt. Drueke’s mom, and I have a funny name. It’s Bunny, like a bunny rabbit. I don’t have big ears like a rabbit, but I can wiggle my nose like a rabbit does and I like to eat carrots. Do you like carrots? Sgt. Drueke told me how you have cancer and what a brave and beautiful girl you are. We hope you get well really soon. You are loved very much. I’m glad you had a good birthday. My birthday is in July, but I will be much older than 6. πŸ™‚ Big hugs, Miss Bunny

  • “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91

  • Hello Lyris,
What a brave little girl you are. Your mommy asked me to pray for you and I am going to make sure that I do! What a blessed little girl to have such a mommy πŸ™‚ I see that you have your surgery coming up soon and I don’t want you to be afraid as Jesus has you in the palm of his hand and He is with you every step of the way – He is saying, “do not fear” and that He loves you so very much. You have a lot of love around you. I am going to ask you for a favor – when you are feeling up to it I would love a picture (or any type of drawing from you). Art really helps me to feel better and I think it willl do the same for you! πŸ™‚ I am praying for you and believing that 1 day you will be all better. God bless and I hope to meet you 1 day!

  • Bonjour Lyris,
You’re the one,the only one that win each day that pass your freedom to recover, and return to a normal life again. Sometimes it takes more energy, more strenght, then you can expect your love ones to be there for you in all ways. Remember, love create such amasing things, I don’t know how to pray (I never learn), but my thoughts, my experience, and the love I feel deep in my heart will contribute to bring you the pride that belongs to success. From Paris, France. My son Thomas keep a eye on you girl. NIna
